Gauteng Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation invites interested and suitably qualified applicants to apply for the School Sport Coordinators (3-Year Contract) positions available under the NASI iSPANI programme. These opportunities are aimed at empowering youth between the ages of 16 and 35 who are passionate about sport development and community participation in school-based activities across various corridors in Gauteng Province. Successful candidates will support the implementation of school sport programmes by assisting Sport Officials in promoting participation among learners, coordinating cluster games, facilitating programme administration, and contributing to reporting processes such as monthly, quarterly, and annual programme updates. The role also includes assisting with capacity-building initiatives and supporting the organisation of district, regional, and provincial school sport activities.

Applicants must possess a Grade 12 certificate, while a tertiary qualification in Sports, Recreation Management, Administration, or Recreation Leadership will serve as an added advantage. REQUIREMENTS

DUTIES
  • Support the Sport Official in the Core District as well as in Sports and Recreation Corridors in the promoting of mass participation in Sport for all children of school going age.
  • Support Officials in enhancing regular participation of Schools and learners in targeted and cluster games.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the District and Corridor.
  • Facilitate and record all information with regards to program implementation.
  • Prepare programme statistics and submit Monthly, Quarterly, Annual and general reporting on programme implementation.
  • Assist the Sport Officials in coordinating capacity building programs in the district.
  • Assume roles within commissions in organizing and coordinating the school sport activity district, regional and provincial games.
