Armed Response Officer
AM Security Services is recruiting Armed Response Officers to join the Public Safety Response team. This role carries the responsibility of patrolling business environments and surrounding areas to protect business communities and their customers.
Responsibilities

Tactical Response Officer

Security Officer – K9 Handler

A K9 handler must be well trained in surveillance and managing perpetrators while working with a patrol dog. The ideal candidate commands respect and authority and demonstrates strong observation and dog handling skills. The role supports safe, problem-free facilities for the client.
Use of a Patrol Dog
- Provides a higher level of protection for both client and handler
- Acts as a pre-warning deterrent to potential criminals
- Assists effectively in tracking and arresting suspects
- Handlers must act responsibly when using a dog to apprehend a suspect
- Excessive force may not be used during apprehension
- A dog may not be used if a suspect does not resist
- A dog may be used if a suspect resists arrest or attempts to flee, until the suspect is under control
- The National Control Room and TSU management must be informed immediately when a dog is used in an arrest
- SAPS must be contacted so the suspect can be handed over for detention and statements can be taken
- First aid must be applied if a suspect sustains serious injury, with an ambulance contacted if necessary
- A detailed occurrence book entry must be completed for every incident

The Control Centre CCTV Operator is responsible for effective monitoring of all cameras, promptly identifying and responding to security incidents, and maintaining a secure environment. This position is based in Stellenbosch, full-time, and requires the candidate’s own transport.
Key Responsibilities
Emergency Response
- Contact emergency or relevant service providers as needed
- Coordinate with security personnel and emergency responders during incidents
Incident Response
- Respond promptly to security incidents by taking appropriate action
- Coordinate with security personnel and responders to address potential threats or breaches
- Maintain detailed incident logs and provide accurate, timely reports to the appropriate authorities
System Maintenance
