Important application notes

All online applications must include a Z83 application form and CV combined into a single PDF attachment. Zipped files, IMG files and JPEG documents will not be accepted. Applicants must indicate the correct job title and reference number in the subject line of their email and use the email address linked specifically to this post, since using the wrong details will lead to disqualification.

Only the new version of the Z83 form will be accepted, available from any Public Service department or at www.gov.za/documents. Sections A to D of the form must be completed in full, and while sections E, F and G allow applicants to refer to their CV, the question on conditions preventing re-appointment under Part F must still be answered and the declaration signed.

Only shortlisted candidates will be asked to submit certified copies of qualifications and other supporting documents, and this will only happen closer to the interview date once Human Resources has made contact. Applicants with foreign qualifications who are not South African citizens or who hold a Permanent Resident Permit must include a SAQA evaluation report, but again only once shortlisted.

Applications sent by fax will not be accepted, and applications that don’t meet the requirements or arrive after the closing date will not be considered. If an applicant hasn’t heard back within eight weeks of the closing date, they should consider their application unsuccessful.

All shortlisted candidates, including those applying for SMS posts, will need to complete two pre-entry assessments: a practical exercise testing suitability against the post’s technical and general requirements, and a separate integrity or ethical conduct assessment. Suitable candidates will then undergo a personnel suitability check covering criminal record, citizenship, credit record, qualification verification and employment history.

By applying, candidates consent to their personal information being collected, processed and stored in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). This information will only be used for the purposes of this specific recruitment process and won’t be shared with third parties without consent, unless required by law.

The department has reserved the right not to fill this post, and successful candidates will be required to sign a performance agreement.
