Department of Transport Internships & WIL

The Department of Transport invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for its 2027/2029 Internship Programme and Work Integrated Learning opportunities. A range of positions is available across areas including administration, human resources, finance, supply chain management, road transport, maritime transport, civil aviation, public transport, rail transport, town planning, information technology and other specialised fields. Graduate internship positions offer a stipend of R8 174,75 per month according to qualifications, while the Work Integrated Learning opportunities offer a stipend of R6 131,00 per month as specified in the advert.

The internship opportunities are available to candidates who meet the relevant academic requirements for the position applied for. Qualifications required vary according to the field and include National Diplomas, Bachelor’s Degrees, Advanced Diplomas, postgraduate qualifications and N6 Certificates for selected Work Integrated Learning positions. The Department states that previous participation in an internship programme, including internships at other government departments or state entities, disqualifies an applicant.
