Reporting to the SHE Manager, the incumbent will be based at the Dudfield Plant.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Developing, with the Operational Management, corrective measures of areas of noncompliance identified during evaluations and audits.
- Assisting and advising Management on environmentally related trends and legislation.
- Conducting environmental audits at operational level.
- Conducting induction and environmental awareness training within Dudfield.
- Contributing to triple bottom line initiatives
- Conducting research of environmental related information
- Environmental input into operational aspects relating to the setting of operational strategy, mining, processes, rehabilitation
- Legal responsibility /appointment (water, waste, NEMA)
- Facilitating awareness of the relationship between environmental risk and short-term strategies that may affect long-term environmental objectives and sustainability
- Representing Management as a Representative for ISO 14001
Qualifications, competencies, knowledge and experience required:
- B.Sc. Environmental or Natural Sciences/Degree in Environmental Management (NQF 7 Qualification)
- Three to Five years’ experience in a mining or industrial/manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of Environmental Law; Environmental auditing; Environmental management systems; Risk management, Mine Health & Safety Act.
- Valid Code 08 driver’s license
