Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our dynamic team in delivering exceptional catering services. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring high standards of customer service, hygiene, and operational efficiency within our catering operations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Grade 12 certificate
- Relevant qualification in the Hospitality/Catering sector or currently studying towards a hospitality qualification (highly recommended)
Experience and Knowledge Required
- Minimum of 12 months of experience in the catering sector
- Working knowledge of Food Service Regulations
Skills and Competencies Required
- Enjoys practical and methodical work
- Demonstrates maturity and reliability
- Honest and trustworthy
- Possesses good hand-eye coordination
- Ability to work quickly and safely
- Maintains excellent personal hygiene
- Free from skin allergies to foods and detergents
- Flexible and adaptable to the demands of the role
Key Performance Areas
- Deliver a high level of customer service within the area of responsibility
- Complete all required checklists accurately and on time
- Perform related tasks as assigned
- Ensure all catering equipment is maintained and premises are left hygienically clean and tidy at the end of each shift
- Promptly report any client complaints or comments to the Team Leader
- Execute reasonable requests from any member of the Management team
- Stay informed about catering trends to promote competitive services
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals
- Ensure compliance with company and statutory regulations regarding cleanliness and hygiene in all tasks
