Position: General Assistant: Office Cleaners X2 (External/Internal Advert)
Salary Scale: Task grade 04 of a Category 2 Local Authority (R135 398.64 – R162 855.95 p.a.) plus normal fringe benefits applicable to Local Government
Key Requirements:
- Grade 09 or Basic numeracy and literacy (understanding of basic written words and number recognition)
- Must be physically fit

Key Performance Areas:
- Receiving verbal instructions from the immediate superior on work programme and/or priorities related to specific requirements and/or sequence mixing and using chemical detergents to remove stains/dirt from painted/polished or carpeted surfaces
- Cleaning every office in the municipal building including the library and the boardroom daily
- Cleaning the office toilets daily
- Washing the office windows once a week and providing the superior with a schedule of which windows will be washed on which days
- Sweeping the floors of the municipal building and other municipal buildings, libraries, and boardroom daily
- Cleaning and washing the tiles floor daily
- Vacuuming carpeted floor areas
- Washing the carpets floor areas, dusting, and tidying desktops and shelves

Position: Refuse Removal Truck Driver X2 (External/Internal Advert)
Salary Scale: Task grade 09 of a Category 2 Local Authority (R255 574.32 – R331 758.84 p.a.) plus normal fringe benefits applicable to Local Government
Key Requirements:
- Grade 11
- A heavy-vehicle driver’s license, Code 14 (EC)
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a truck driver
Key Competency Skills:
- Communication skills
- Good driving skills
- Must be able to handle stressful circumstances
Key Performance Areas:
- Conducts pre-driving checks by checking the following before using the vehicle, in order to see that it is operational: Fuel levels, Oil levels, Radiator, Battery water level, Indicator and brake lights, state of tread and inflation of tires
- Checks the adequate operation of lifting gear and loading gear by greasing the relevant grease nipples once a week
- Provides for the cleanliness of the truck by having it washed and polished at least once a week in order to ensure that it is continuously maintained
- Ensures that correct protective clothing is worn and correct lifting procedures are followed in order to confirm that all safety standards are being adhered to
- Instructs laborers to report excessive accumulation of refuse, defective containers, aggressive dogs, or locked gates in order that remedial steps may be taken
- Projects a good image by close supervision of personnel on the tractor, ascertaining that laborers are sober and fit enough to work and that they work tidily in their area
