Duties
- Perform access control functions
- Determine visitor appointments or service requirements
- Confirm appointments with relevant officials or direct visitors accordingly
- Control admission registers and issue access cards/documents
- Operate X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors where required
- Prevent unauthorised persons and dangerous objects from entering premises
- Perform proper lock-up of offices and access points
- Identify suspicious behaviour and follow up on incidents
- Report security breaches and non-compliance to supervisors
- Record incidents in the occurrence book/register
- Ensure safety within buildings and premises
- Prevent unauthorised movement of equipment, documents and stores
- Operate control room security equipment

- Ensure compliance with departmental security policies
- Monitor access control to prevent unauthorised entry
- Authorise movement of equipment, documents and stores
- Check occurrence books/registers and perform administrative duties
- Administer key control systems
- Monitor and respond to alarm systems
- Identify risks and threats to departmental security
- Manage control room operations and review footage upon request
