The Department of Enrolment and Student Administration: Student Service Center at the University of Pretoria (UP) is recruiting Interns for administrative support. UP offers this opportunity to candidates who wish to gain practical experience and exposure. This is in line with UP’s ‘Ready for Work’ initiative for UP graduates.

Interns’ responsibilities
The successful candidates will be placed in the department noted above. In general, the responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
1. Professionally respond to and resolve queries via e-mails, voice, and walk-in channels.

2. Provide specialist support in relevant online functions of the University to end users prospective and registered students, as well as internal and external clients.

3. Professionally respond to and resolve queries in such a way that service excellence is experienced at all times.

4. Promote the image of the University by providing excellent client service and customer relationship management (CRM).

5. Perform other related duties as required or assigned by the Manager

Prior work experience is not required.

All successful candidates will receive training/mentorship; thus, prior work experience is not required.

Candidate requirements
• UP BCOM/BAdmin degree
• Languages: English (spoken and written);
• Between 18 and 35 of age; and
• South African citizen
• Computer literacy essential, in particular Excel spreadsheets

Please note: The position is office-based and requires 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week on campus. Travel between campuses will occasionally be required. On most days the hours are 8 am-4:30 pm, with some slight variation.
