Job Description:
- Ensure high standard of safety in panel
- Ensure that mechanical equipment is in good running order
- Report abnormal activities to Stoper / Crew Captain/ Stope Team leader
- Assist during breakdowns or emergencies
- Make sure panel is safe, support early entry and exit inspections, bar face
- Participate in required meetings including safety
- Ensure that a blast in the next shift can take place
- Help in-stope logistics to maintain equipment
- Effective two way communications with team members
- Install permanent support in panel, including preparation of material and making safe equipment for next blast
- Support the measurement of mining activities
- Support team members in the section and logistics support team if they require help
- Support the Crew Captain /Stoper/ Stope Team leader in identifying material requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve operations in panel
- Support efforts to overcome operational problems in panel
- Identify risks and threats to the process proactively
This role is in the Mining Department at a B2 level reporting to the Stope Team Leader.
Qualifications:
- Grade 10 Numeracy and Literacy.
- Grade 12 certificate will be advantageous
- Passed Panel assistant Timber training module.
- Passed basic Panel assistance maintenance course
- Competent B
To be successful, you will have the following experience:
- At least 6 months experience as Stope Timber.

- Candidate will be expected to undergo a Medical Fitness Test and Assessments
