The Legal Practice Council (LPC) invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the vacant Switchboard Operator position at the Northern Cape Provincial Office. This role, based in Kimberly with the reference number NC04/2025, offers a total CTC monthly salary of R21 800.00, all-inclusive. Candidates must possess a Matric (Grade 12) qualification along with one year of receptionist or call centre experience, and demonstrate proficiency in MS Office (Basic Word, Excel, Outlook) and switchboard operations.

Minimum Appointment Requirements

  • Matric (Grade 12) and 01-year receptionist or call centre experience
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Basic Word, Excel, Outlook) and Switchboard operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate switchboard, receiving and relaying calls to the appropriate recipient
  • Take messages where necessary and distribute timely to the correct recipient
  • Place occasional local and long-distance calls
  • Handle general enquiries and direct through to the correct recipients, when required
  • Receive, sort and distribute incoming mail
  • Receive and sign for parcels or deliveries, distributing to appropriate staff members
  • Photocopy, scan, fax, email and print as and when required
  • Perform miscellaneous clerical and copy typing duties, as assigned
  • Administer bookings for meeting rooms and ensure that meetings are booked timeously and accurately
  • Assist in filing and retrieving of documentation
