Description
- Assist with routine analysis of microbiological nature.
- Prepare agars, reagents and chemicals used for routine analysis.
- Clean utensils and glassware used for routine analytical determination.
- Correctly apply techniques within specified guidelines.
- Timeously complete technical tasks according to set quality and accreditation standards.
- Efficiently plan and schedule analytical service in accordance with given instructions.
- Cost-effective stock control according to regulation.
- Timeous reporting of malfunctioning of equipment.
- Maintain and ensure that equipment is in working order and in compliance with applicable quality standards.
- Assist in maintaining the accreditation status, ISO/IEC 17025:2017 of the laboratory.
- Maintaining an Occupational and Health, Safety laboratory according to Good Laboratory Practice.
- Assist with sample reception and monthly mixing of calibration standards.
- Assist in maintaining a clean laboratory in general.
Requirements
- Senior Certificate/Grade 12 with 5 years relevant experience or Grade 10 with 10 years relevant experience or 20 years relevant experience.
- Experience in ISO 17025 and working in an accredited laboratory, will be an advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Skilled to work as part of the team as well as independently.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to respect and maintain confidentiality.

- In possession of a valid SA driver’s license.
