How to Apply
Applicants are advised to carefully read all the conditions and requirements for the advertised EPWP positions before submitting an application. Failure to follow the application instructions or meet the stated requirements may result in the application being disqualified. By submitting an application, candidates acknowledge that they understand and accept all the conditions attached to the advertised positions.
Interested candidates must download the official Departmental Circular No. 49 of 2026 EPWP Advert and submit their applications strictly according to the instructions contained in the advertisement. Only applications submitted in the prescribed manner will be considered.
The Limpopo Department of Health invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) work opportunities, which will run until 31 March 2027. Applications must be submitted using the new Z83 Application for Employment Form, which is available from any government department or can be downloaded from the Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA) website. Each application must be accompanied by a comprehensive and up-to-date Curriculum Vitae (CV).
The new Z83 form must be completed in full and signed by the applicant. All fields in Part A, Part C, and Part D are compulsory. In Part B, all sections should also be completed, except that South African applicants do not need to provide passport numbers. Applicants who are not conducting business with the State or are not directors of companies doing business with the State may indicate “Not Applicable” or leave the relevant section blank. Similarly, applicants who are not required to provide professional registration details may leave that section blank if it does not apply to them.
Where there is insufficient space in Parts E, F, and G of the Z83 form, applicants may indicate “Refer to CV” or “See Attached,” provided the attached CV contains all the required information. The CV forms part of the official application, and applicants remain responsible for ensuring that all relevant information is included. Questions relating to conditions that prevent reappointment under Part F must also be answered where applicable. Current public servants seeking employment are not required to complete the section intended only for applicants seeking re-employment.
Applicants who obtained qualifications outside South Africa are responsible for ensuring that those qualifications have been evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). Proof of the SAQA evaluation must be provided when required.
Only shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend interviews. At the interview stage, candidates must present certified copies of all relevant qualifications, proof of registration with the applicable professional body where required, and a certified copy of their South African identity document.
Shortlisted candidates will also be required to complete two mandatory pre-entry assessments before appointment. These assessments include a practical exercise and an Integrity (Ethical Conduct) Assessment in accordance with the Directive on Human Resource Management and Development for Public Service Professionalisation, which became effective on 1 April 2024.
Successful applicants will be expected to work eight hours per day. Only applicants who have not previously been employed under the EPWP for more than 24 months will be considered for these opportunities.
The Limpopo Department of Health encourages persons with disabilities to apply. Due to the anticipated high volume of applications, correspondence will be limited to shortlisted candidates only. If no communication is received within 90 days after the closing date, the application should be regarded as unsuccessful. Applicants who are dissatisfied with any administrative action may request reasons from the Department within 90 days in terms of Section 5(1)(2) of the Promotion of Administrative Justice Act, 2000 (Act No. 3 of 2000).
Applicants must quote the Departmental Circular Number (Circular No. 49… of 2026) or the application reference beginning with LDH/ on the Z83 application form. The internal reference S4/1/1 must not be used, as it is reserved for departmental correspondence only.
No payment or application fee is required when applying for any of the positions advertised in this circular. The Department reserves the right not to fill any or all of the advertised posts.
The closing date for applications is 28 July 2026. Applicants are encouraged to submit their applications before the deadline and to regularly check the official Limpopo Department of Health website and the Department’s official social media platforms for the full advertisement and any updates regarding the recruitment process.
