Department of Health – Laundry Worker (24 Positions Available)

The Department of Health invites interested and suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Laundry Worker Level II at Dunswart Provincial Laundry. This opportunity is available within the Factories Directorate, with 24 posts to be filled. The successful candidates will be responsible for handling linen operations, including loading and unloading, sorting, counting, folding, ironing, pressing, sealing, and labeling linen. Maintaining cleanliness of the work environment and ensuring accurate delivery and collection of clean and dirty linen will form part of daily responsibilities. Candidates must have a minimum of Grade 10 or an equivalent qualification, demonstrate good interpersonal skills, and be willing and able to work night shifts.

This position offers a salary package ranging from R138 486.00 to R163 131.00 per annum, plus applicable benefits. Requirements
  • Minimum of Grade 10 or equivalent qualification is required.
  • Relevant or appropriate experience will be an added advantage.
  • Good interpersonal relations.
  • Must be willing and able to work night shifts.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Unload and load linen.
  • Sort, count, and fold linen.
  • Iron and press linen using pressing and ironing machines.
  • Seal and label linen bags with tags.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the working area and equipment.
  • Count linen deliveries.
  • Deliver clean linen and collect dirty linen.
