Salary

Successful candidates will receive a salary of: R170,226 per annum

Duties
  • Perform access control and identify suspicious conduct.
  • Prevent unauthorized persons and dangerous objects from entering premises.
  • Escort visitors to relevant employees or venues when required.
  • Ensure departmental equipment and assets do not leave premises without authorization.
  • Conduct proper lock-up of offices and access points.
  • Operate and monitor control room security equipment.
  • Undertake building and premises patrols.
  • Lock or unlock main doors and trellidoors as required.
  • Identify fire hazards such as exposed electrical contacts.
  • Apply emergency procedures and alert emergency services and management.
  • Provide receptionist services when necessary.
  • Ensure safety of staff and visitors.
  • Record incidents in the occurrence book/register.
  • Maintain occurrence register and other registers.
  • Verify that visitors entering forests hold approved licences under the National Forests Act (NFA).
  • Assist with fire management in forests when required.
  • Report missing or stolen equipment and stores.
  • Provide feedback to supervisors on incidents reported.
