Important Information
No late applications will be accepted. Applicants must submit a fully completed New Z83 Application Form (effective 1 January 2021) together with a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV). Candidates applying through the Eastern Cape Provincial e-Recruitment System do not need to manually complete the Z83 form, as it is automatically generated once the application has been submitted. Copies of qualifications and other supporting documents are not required at the application stage.
The Z83 form generated through the e-Recruitment System cannot currently be signed electronically. Applicants will therefore not be disqualified for submitting an unsigned Z83 through the online system. Shortlisted candidates will instead be required to sign the form on or before the interview date. Applicants can view all submitted applications under the “My Job Applications” section of the e-Recruitment System. Although the generated Z83 does not display qualifications or work experience, this information is captured and available to the recruitment team.
Only shortlisted candidates will be required to submit certified copies of qualifications, identity documents, and any other relevant supporting documents, including a Permanent Residence Permit where applicable, on or before the interview date. Failure to provide the required documents within the specified timeframe will result in disqualification. Correspondence will be limited to shortlisted candidates only. If no communication is received within six (6) months after the closing date, the application should be regarded as unsuccessful.
Successful applicants will undergo a comprehensive personnel suitability assessment, which includes criminal record checks, citizenship verification, qualification verification, previous employment verification, and financial or asset record checks. Candidates may also be required to complete skills or knowledge assessments where applicable.
Shortlisted candidates, including members of the Senior Management Service (SMS), will be required to complete two pre-entry assessments. These include a practical assessment to determine suitability for the technical and generic requirements of the post, as well as an integrity assessment focusing on ethical conduct. Candidates recommended for SMS positions will also be required to complete the DPSA Generic Managerial Competency Assessment using the prescribed competency-based assessment tools. Applicants appointed to SMS positions must submit a valid Nyukela Pre-Entry Certificate before appointment.
Successful candidates will be appointed subject to the applicable probation period of 12 or 24 months, depending on the position.
