The Limpopo Department of Sport, Arts and Culture invites interested and suitably qualified candidates to apply for opportunities available under the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP). These positions are offered on a 12-month contract basis with a monthly stipend of R3 500 and are aimed at supporting employment creation while strengthening service delivery across libraries, museums, archives, and administrative offices in Limpopo Province.

Successful applicants will be expected to perform duties related to cleaning services, general maintenance, records management, and administrative support depending on the post applied for. Preference will be given to applicants who reside near the centres where the posts are available, in line with EPWP recruitment guidelines and geographic targeting requirements. Youth, women, and persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.

The Limpopo Department of Sport, Arts and Culture is offering the following EPWP positions:

  1. EPWP Cleaners (x117 posts)
  2. EPWP General Workers (x45 posts)
  3. EPWP Record Clerks (x6 posts)
  4. EPWP Administration Officer (x1 post)

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews and required to provide certified copies of qualifications and identification documents. Minimum Requirements
  • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)
  • Cleaning experience will be an advantage
  • Must live near the centre applied for
  • Proof of residence required
Duties
  • Clean offices, corridors, boardrooms, and libraries
  • Clean kitchens and toilets
  • Remove waste and dust surfaces
  • Refill water dispensers
  • Prepare meeting venues
  • Clean equipment and machinery
  • Package files for disposal

2. EPWP General Workers (x45 posts)

Minimum Requirements
  • Grade 10 / ABET Level 2
  • Physically fit and able to work outdoors
  • Good communication skills

  • Ability to work under pressure
Duties
  • Maintain museum facilities and surroundings
  • Bush clearing and landscaping
  • Fence maintenance
  • Firebreak creation
  • Soil erosion control
  • General manual labour tasks

3. EPWP Record Clerk (x6 posts)

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)
  • Diploma/Degree in Archival Studies, Library Science, History, Information Science or related field (advantage)

Duties

  • Capture and sort records
  • Scan documents for digital storage
  • Arrange and classify archives
  • Compile monthly and quarterly reports

4. EPWP Administration Officer (x1 post)

Location: Head Office (Museum and Heritage Unit)

Minimum Requirements
  • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)
  • Qualification in Office Administration or Administration Management (advantage)
Duties
  • Answer telephone calls and take messages
  • Provide administrative support
  • File and scan documents
  • Prepare reports and presentations
  • Manage correspondence and enquiries
  • Maintain office systems
General Requirements for All Posts

ADVERTISEMENT OF WORK OPPORTUNITIES FOR EXPANDED PUBLIC WORKS PROGRAMME (EPWP) IN LIMPOPO DSAC CIRCULAR NO 04 OF 2025
  1. Applicants are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for work opportunities in the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP).
  2. Applications must be submitted on new Z83 forms obtainable from all Government Departments or can be downloaded from www.gov.za / www.dpsa.gov.za and must be accompanied by comprehensive CV. Applicants are to specify the Centre on Z83.
  3. Shortlisted candidates will be required to come for interviews with certified copies of all relevant qualifications and ID document/smart ID card.
  4. The recruitment of candidates shall follow geographic targeting and household income status in line with the EPWP guidelines.
  5. Applicants must live or reside close to the centres which they intend to apply for. Proof of residence must be attached.
  6. The new Z83 form must be fully completed and signed by the applicant. The following must be considered in relation to the completion of the new Z83 by applicants: All the fields in Part A, Part C and Part D should be completed. In Part B, all fields should be completed in full except the following: South African applicants need not provide passport numbers. If an applicant responded “no” to the question “Are you conducting business with the State or are you a Director of a Public or Private company conducting business with the State? If yes (provide detail)” then it is acceptable for an applicant to indicate not applicable or leave blank to the question, “In the event that you are employed in the Public Service, will you immediately relinquish such business interest?”. Applicants may leave the following question blank if they are not in possession of such: “If your profession or occupation requires official registration, provide date and particulars of registration”. Noting there is limited space provided for Part E, F & G, applicants often indicate “refer to Curriculum Vitae (CV) or see attached”. This is acceptable if the CV has been attached and provides the required information. If the information is not provided in the CV, the applicant may be disqualified. It must be noted that a CV is an extension of the application of employment Z83, and applicants are accountable for the information that is provided therein. The questions related to conditions that prevent re-appointment under Part F must be answered. The Department reserves the right not to make any appointment(s) to the posts advertised. Please note: Due to the austerity measure the Department will not carry any related costs (transport, accommodation, and meals) for candidates attending interviews.
