EPWP Now Hiring: 141 Positions Open for Unemployed Residents

The Ngaka Modiri Molema District Municipality invites applications from unemployed individuals residing within the district to join the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP).   • Duration: An eighteen-month contract
  • Stipend: Compensation is determined based on the Ministerial Determination (Notice no. 347) issued by the Minister of Labour, in accordance with the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, 1997. The stipend amounts to R126.64 per day, equating to R2,786.64 per month (excluding UIF), calculated over 22 working days per month.

Distribution of Participants

The 141 available positions are allocated as follows:

  • Mahikeng Local Municipality: 40 participants
  • Ditsobotla Local Municipality: 30 participants
  • Ramotshere Moiloa Local Municipality: 30 participants
  • Tswaing Local Municipality: 21 participants
  • Ratlou Local Municipality: 20 participants
Key Responsibilities

Participants will engage in essential duties designed to enhance the cleanliness and maintenance of public facilities. These responsibilities include:

  • General cleaning and maintenance of municipal buildings.
  • General cleaning and upkeep of school premises, including tasks such as cutting trees, de-vegetation of grounds, and maintenance of vegetable or ornamental gardens.
  • Alternatively, participants may focus on cleaning school administration blocks and providing support with necessary administrative tasks.

The programme targets various schools within the district municipality as well as municipal offices, with specific placements outlined in the distribution table above.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum qualification of Grade 10, with a relevant academic report attached.
  • A recently certified copy of an identity document.
  • A comprehensive curriculum vitae.
  • Proof of residence within the district.

Only South African citizens residing in identified wards of Ngaka Modiri Molema District Municipality qualify for consideration. Special encouragement is extended to individuals living with disabilities, youth, and women residing within the five constituent local municipalities to apply.
