Successful candidates will perform daily housekeeping tasks across offices, control rooms, ablution facilities, kitchens, change rooms, and surrounding grounds, ensuring a hygienic and hazard-free environment. The position requires diligence in preventing blockages in treatment units, managing sludge disposal according to standard procedures, and adhering strictly to health and safety protocols at all times.

Job Content

Perform daily cleaning and housekeeping tasks across all facilities and operational areas of the Water Care Works (WCW), including offices, kitchen, change rooms, control rooms, ablution facilities, and surrounding grounds, to maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment.

Key Performance Areas
  • Daily good housekeeping and ground maintenance of equipment at the treatment plant.
  • Ensure no clogging of treatment units at the works.
  • Apply or direct sludge to designated areas according to set procedures.
  • Observe all safety rules, procedures, signs, and instructions to prevent health and safety incidents.
  • Clean pump stations and other operational and process units.
  • Regularly remove and dispose of inlet screens.
  • Remove algae growth and debris from all equipment and treatment units.
Minimum Requirements
  • Grade 8 (NQF Level 2) or N1 Qualification (NQF Level 2)
