Position: Accountant
Location: Head Office (Sandton)

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY: The Accountant role is responsible for assisting the Manager: Fidelity Fund in maintaining accurate financial records, timely reporting, and sound investment management systems in order to obtain an unqualified audit report. This includes assisting with the preparation of monthly trial balances, reconciling the balance sheet and investment accounts, monitoring and maintaining debtors and creditors age analyses, and monitoring and maintaining monthly variance reports and quarterly management accounts.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • National Diploma/ Advanced Certificate in Finance/Accounting or equivalent
  • Degree, Caseware knowledge and experience will be added advantage
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar environment
  • A working knowledge and understanding of the legislation governing the Property Practitioners
  • Good background knowledge and understanding of government policy and legal compliance issues in the public sector
  • Knowledge of current trends, research methods and practice
  • Exceptional financial management knowledge
  • Sound understanding of investment models and available portfolios
  • Sound understanding of the industry and business environment
  • Legislation applicable to PPRA (PFMA, GAAP, KING IV, TAX, GAAP & GRAP, IFRS)
  • Results and Stakeholder orientation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of allocated general ledger reconciliations
  • Ensure the accuracy payroll related processing and Reconciliation
  • Review of weekly and monthly bank reconciliations
  • Review Petty Cash reconciliation
  • Ensure accuracy of Investments/Financial Assets, assets, liabilities and income statement General Ledger accounts (i.e., processing and reconciliations)
  • Revenue invoicing and Management by ensuring accuracy of various revenue General Ledger accounts and completeness testing
  • Query management
  • Assist with year-end, Auditor General and Internal Audit related tasks and duties as allocated by Senior Accountant
  • Assist with ad-hoc responsibilities from the Senior Accountant.

Position: Compliance Officer
Location: Head Office (Sandton)

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY: The Compliance Officer, is responsible for responsible for ensuring that all regulatory compliance that is applicable to the PPRA business, are implemented and enforced and are in line with the controls established by the PPRA Risk and Compliance department and perform periodic compliance monitoring reviews, to identify areas of non-compliance and improvement and aid the business unit in executing its responsibility to comply with associated laws, regulation including governance and professional standards, business practices, code of conduct, internal standards, policies and procedures, and to assist with the implementation and operationalization of risk and compliance management frameworks within the PPRA.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A National Diploma qualification in Law, Governance, Compliance or equivalent
  • A post National Diploma qualification will be advantageous
  • Membership with CISA will be an added advantage
  • Certification in Compliance will be an added advantage
  • Minimum 5 years’ working experience, with at least 3 years at a supervisory level
  • Advanced knowledge of Compliance Management and controls frameworks
  • Knowledge of PFMA, National Treasury regulations and other relevant legislation or frameworks
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and statistical applications
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills
  • Project Management skills and MS package
  • Research, presentation, facilitation and organizational skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, review and maintain the compliance universe
  • Implement and maintain of the PPRA’s compliance framework and procedures to mitigate potential compliance risks
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive compliance program aligned with organizational requirements
  • Assist with inputs regarding the review of compliance enablers among others such as Compliance management policy, Compliance management strategy, Compliance Management Framework annually or when it is required
  • Develop and implement a compliance risk management plan in accordance with the approved standards, methodologies and tools
  • Develop compliance risk profiles per Unit in the organization
  • Prepare consolidated operational compliance risk registers for reporting purposes
  • Contribute to the development of Internal Audit the Compliance strategic and operational plans
  • Prepare quality compliance audit program
  • Prepare and document compliance reports
  • Provide secretarial and logistical support to the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer during the Compliance Forum Meetings.

Position: Human Resource Officer
Position:
Head Office (Sandton)

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY: The role is responsible for implementing HR best practice processes, procedures, and enabling tools to ensure the delivery of a credible, competent, professional, and cost-effective HR Service to achieve the overall objectives of the PPRA.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A National Diploma in Human Resources Management NQF level 6
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Human Resource Generalist
  • A working knowledge and understanding of the HR legislations and other relevant legislations
  • Experience in Human Resources administrative processes, procedures and systems
  • Good report writing and presentation skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • A high level of confidentiality
  • MS Package.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate the recruitment process of vacant positions in accordance with vacancy requests and authorisation
  • Facilitate performance management reviews processes within the organisation in line with performance management policy guidelines (performance appraisals)
  • Facilitate staff training and development interventions
  • Provide advice to staff on the interpretation and implementation of HR policies and other related legislations
  • Prepare and workshop HR policies, inductions, etc to staff
  • Provide advice on labour relations matters
  • Administer monthly payroll
  • Administer and explain benefits to employees e.g. medical aid, provident fund, leave provision and compensation
  • Ensure effective administration, record keeping and produce project related reports
  • Prepare monthly reports.
