About the Position
The Grade C Security Officer plays a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment by preventing security incidents, conducting regular patrols, monitoring access control, and responding quickly to emergencies. The position requires alertness, integrity, professionalism, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring that assigned premises remain secure at all times while following company procedures and client security requirements.
Please note that this position is not permanent and will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two months.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to perform a variety of security duties, including but not limited to:
- Safeguard people, company assets, client property, and assigned premises.
- Maintain a visible security presence throughout the designated work area.
- Conduct regular patrols according to established security procedures.
- Record all patrol activities using the On-Site Check System.
- Ensure every clocking point is completed every hour.
- Complete patrols that last a minimum of 45 minutes.
- Ensure rest breaks between patrols do not exceed 15 minutes.
- Identify and report security risks, suspicious activities, and unsafe conditions.
- Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents.
- Complete detailed incident reports for every security-related event.
- Submit all incident reports within 24 hours after an incident occurs.
- Notify the Site Senior immediately after any incident.
- Ensure the Strand Control Room is informed of incidents so that the Contract Manager and client can also be notified.
- Verify identification badges and access permits for employees, contractors, and visitors entering secure premises.
- Prevent unauthorized access to buildings and restricted areas.
- Monitor surveillance systems and investigate any suspicious activity detected.
- Respond professionally to emergency situations involving security threats.
- Assist employees and visitors with security-related concerns.
- Contact emergency services, law enforcement, or fire departments whenever necessary.
- Maintain all site registers accurately and ensure documentation remains neat and complete.
- Follow company policies, client procedures, and security regulations at all times.
- Maintain a professional appearance while on duty.
- Perform any additional security-related responsibilities assigned by supervisors.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should meet the following minimum requirements before applying:
- Valid and updated PSIRA Grade C Certificate.
- Grade 12 qualification is advantageous but not essential.
- Previous security experience will be beneficial.

- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
