
The Public Protector South Africa (PPSA) invites interested and suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Messenger / Driver, based in Bloemfontein, Free State Province. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing efficient messenger and transport services to support the daily operations of the institution. This role requires a dedicated and reliable individual who upholds the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality while ensuring effective and timely delivery of correspondence and transportation of officials.
Applicants must possess a Grade 12 certificate, a valid driver’s licence with a PDP, and at least 2–3 years of relevant driving experience. Additional post-matric qualifications will serve as an added advantage. The position offers a basic salary of R228 321.00 per annum plus benefits. Candidates are required to demonstrate excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure. Preference will be given to applicants who meet the Employment Equity requirements of the institution.

Role Overview:
The incumbent will report to the Senior Admin Officer. The role is to support the business by providing efficient messenger and transport services.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Matric / Grade 12 certificate.
- Post matric qualifications will be an added advantage.
- Driver’s licence with a valid PDP.
- 2 – 3 years relevant experience as a driver.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Collect and deliver incoming and outgoing mail at the post office.
- Collect and deliver mail from various departments and institutions.
- Keep records of physical addresses of other departments / organizations.
- Transport of officials as when required.
- Maintenance of the vehicle.
- Perform adhoc driver / admin tasks assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
- Handle the receiving, recording and movement of correspondence internally and externally.

Note: All appointments will be done in terms of the Public Protector Act and a 12 month probation period which may be extended to 18 months will be applicable. The successful candidates will be expected to sign the secrecy declaration form and a performance agreement within 2 months of accepting the position.
