Pharmacist Assistant Post Basic (Supply Chain) x25

Main Purpose of the Job
To strengthen forecasting, stock redistribution, and accountability systems for HIV/TB services.
Key Responsibilities
• Support facility and cluster-level situation analyses and structured assessments of pharmaceutical systems, including stock management SOPs, availability of essential medicines, good pharmacy practice, pharmacovigilance, and multi-month dispensing.
• Strengthen adherence to SOPs for medicine management and Good Pharmacy Practice.
• Improve availability of medicines and commodities for HIV treatment and care, including advanced HIV disease management.
• Conduct site visits to facilities.
• Conduct quality improvement assessments and implement remediation plans to address service delivery gaps.
• Support capacity building and training on medicine supply management, SVS, RxSolutions, and Pharmacovigilance.
• Train and mentor Department of Health staff on pharmacy and supply chain management.
• Implement Transition Readiness Assessments on patient tracing and retention.
• Compile and submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
• Certification as a Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant
• Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in primary health care within a public health setting
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel
Desirable Additional Education, Work Experience, and Personal Abilities
• Experience working with donor-funded organisations and PEPFAR
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
• Strong facilitation skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
