POSITION: ARTISAN ELECTRICIAN X3
DIVISION: ELECTRICITY DISTRIBUTION
DIRECTORATE: INFRASTRUCTURE SERVICES
Task Level 10: R 277 608 to R 360 336 (Basic Salary)
R 437 345 to R 544 317 (Total Cost to Council Package)
(PERMANENT APPOINTMENT)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
• Trade certificate and Special Workman- Preferably a Proficiency certificate, Grade 11 or equivalent N2 certificate.
• 1 – 2 years’ experience.
• Special Workman 2 – 3 years’ experience required.
• Exposure to SSEG, inverters, UPS and solar plant environment (would be an added advantage)
• Valid code C1 driver’s license (PrDP would be an advantage)
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
• Maintaining, constructing, installing and commissioning of the electrical network of Knysna municipal area which include: – 11 kV and 22kV overhead lines, underground cables, switchgear, Mini-Substations, Ring Main Units (RMU), Transformers 400V/ 230V distribution Kiosks, and allied work as well as 11kV and 22kV cable joint using heat shrink.
• Maintaining street lights and high mast lights.
• Maintaining traffic lights.
• Installation of new domestic service connections and pre-paid meter installations and conversations.
• Undertake inspections of electrical installations and report on findings in respect of guidelines provided.
• Responsible for on-site Occupational Health and Safety and Supervision of staff.
• Attend to customer electrical faults/ complaints.
• Perform overtime and standby duties on a roster basis.
