Truck Driver – Water Section (MN 4036/25)

Requirements

  • Minimum of two (02) years relevant driving experience within a Local Government Authority
Duties
  • Drive a truck and perform loading and off-loading of materials and/or water to ensure productivity and effective service delivery
  • Plan daily tasks and move between sites according to instructions or work orders from the Foreman/Supervisor
  • Perform administrative duties related to the role
  • Ensure effective use, care, and maintenance of the assigned vehicle and equipment
  • Assist with other duties when there is no work within the driving sub-section to ensure continuous service delivery
  • Perform any other related ad hoc tasks and duties as requested by management from time to time

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (must be bilingual)
  • Ability to follow and execute instructions
  • Good physical health and basic skills to perform physical labour
  • Hard-working and self-disciplined
  • Minimum of one (01) year relevant experience in roads and stormwater construction, maintenance, or rehabilitation within a Local Government Authority
  • Preference will be given to Midvaal residents only
Duties
  • Load and off-load materials and equipment while wearing the prescribed personal protective equipment
  • Place traffic signs to warn road users during municipal road works
  • Clean work areas using brooms and manual tools to maintain a clean environment
  • Perform maintenance of tarred and gravel roads, as well as stormwater services
  • Carry out labour-related tasks as instructed by the Supervisor, Foreman, or Superintendent
  • Execute all lawful instructions to ensure productivity and smooth section operations
  • Perform any other related ad hoc tasks as required by management
