The National Credit Regulator (NCR) is inviting applications from suitably qualified unemployed South African citizens for its 18-month Internship Programme. Skills and Knowledge

Interns are expected to have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer skills. Strong communication skills are also important, particularly because several departments deal with members of the public, stakeholders and other industry participants.

Successful candidates should be able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats. Planning and organising skills are important for managing tasks and meeting deadlines.

The ability to multitask, work under pressure and maintain attention to detail will also be valuable. Candidates should demonstrate good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.

About the National Credit Regulator

The National Credit Regulator was established under the National Credit Act 34 of 2005 and serves as the regulator of the South African credit industry.

The NCR is responsible for various activities, including education, research, policy development and the registration of industry participants. Registered participants include credit providers, credit bureaux, alternative dispute resolution agents, payment distribution agents and debt counsellors.

The regulator also deals with complaints, investigations and enforcement of the National Credit Act. Its responsibilities include promoting the development of an accessible credit market, particularly for historically disadvantaged persons, low-income communities and people living in remote, isolated or low-density areas.
