Polokwane Municipality invites applications from suitably qualified graduates for the Cashier Graduate Programme within the Directorate of Transportation Services. The municipality is offering an excellent opportunity for unemployed graduates who are looking to gain practical work experience in financial administration, customer service, and municipal transport operations. About the Programme

The Polokwane Municipality Unemployment Graduate Programme forms part of ongoing efforts to create employment opportunities for graduates while improving skills development and public service delivery. Selected candidates will work within the Leeto la Polokwane Bus Operations environment and other transportation-related service points. The programme offers an opportunity to develop professional skills, workplace discipline, and operational knowledge within local government structures.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must possess one of the following qualifications:

  • National Diploma in Accounting

Applicants with 0 to 2 years of experience are encouraged to apply.

Previous exposure to Leeto la Polokwane Bus Operations or experience within any Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system will serve as an added advantage but is not mandatory.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Successful applicants will be expected to perform various cashier and administrative duties within the Transportation Services Directorate. Responsibilities include:

  • Selling LLP Travel Cards at designated sales points
  • Performing fare revenue administration duties
  • Assisting customers with enquiries
  • Providing excellent customer care services
  • Capturing transactions accurately on the system
  • Handling cash and maintaining transaction records
  • Supporting daily transport service operations
  • Working closely with supervisors and colleagues
  • Ensuring smooth customer service operations
  • Assisting with transaction reconciliation processes
  • Maintaining accuracy during all financial activities
