Key Responsibilities
Capturing of HIV Patient Data
  • Accurately capture all relevant patient data on-site using the LYNX APP.
  • Meet daily targets for the number of files captured and/or updated, as agreed upon with Line Managers.
  • Record daily work performance statistics (“data entry stats”) to enable Line Managers to monitor and manage performance effectively.
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality at all times.
Cleaning of HIV Patient Data
  • Compile daily Blitz Reports to support data accuracy and reporting.
  • Assist with data cleaning tasks as required to ensure high-quality data.
Ongoing Skills Development
  • Take responsibility for personal professional growth and development.
  • Seek guidance from supervisors or managers when uncertain about patient data entry or other issues.
  • Attend compulsory in-house training sessions to maintain and enhance professional knowledge and skills.
  • Identify and participate in additional relevant training opportunities to further develop expertise.
  • Collaborate with the data team to compile reports, including PEPFAR and Department of Health (DoH) reports on topics such as Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT), Tuberculosis (TB), Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT), Care, and Antiretroviral Therapy (ART).
System Management
  • Provide support as requested by the Right to Care Line Manager or Team Leader. Examples include:
    • Assisting the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer and Senior Data Capturer with essential duties during leave periods, provided this does not interfere with regular responsibilities.
    • Supporting clerks during brief, unexpected staff shortages.
    • Assisting with Data Manager (DM) duties during prolonged absences, particularly during reporting deadlines.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
  • Matric certificate.
  • Post-matric certificate in computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Basic knowledge of HIV/AIDS.
  • At least 1 year of experience in data capturing.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Post-matric diploma in computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in data capturing.
