The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for Contract Worker positions in the Grants Administration – Grants Review (Level 03) unit within the Free State Region. These positions support the delivery of social grant services through beneficiary verification, document validation, data capturing, and compliance monitoring across several district offices.

This opportunity is suitable for applicants with Grade 12 qualifications and basic computer literacy who are interested in gaining experience in public service administration and beneficiary support operations.

Position Details

  • Salary: R170,226 – R200,523 per annum (plus 37% in lieu of benefits)

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Grade 12 / Senior Certificate (NQF Level 4) recognised by SAQA
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Administrative and record-handling capability
  • Ability to work in outreach environments including community visits

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Relevant qualification at NQF Level 6 (360 credits)
Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be responsible for:

  • Conducting beneficiary screening processes
  • Completing manual grant applications
  • Performing file-level validations and reviews
  • Verifying supporting documentation
  • Assisting beneficiaries at service access points
  • Identifying clients requiring home visit interventions
  • Conducting grant review home visits
  • Supporting mobile outreach review programmes
  • Assisting with community mass review campaigns
  • Updating beneficiary information on the SOCPEN system
  • Capturing and maintaining accurate grant records
  • Identifying cases requiring suspension, lapsing, recovery, or investigation
  • Supporting document tracking and filing processes
  • Preparing review documentation reports
  • Scanning and indexing documents for compliance purposes
  • Maintaining confidentiality and data protection standards
