Job Description
The Security Officer role involves a variety of critical responsibilities to ensure the safety and security of municipal assets and personnel. Duties include:
Key Responsibilities
- Guarding of Municipal Assets to protect public property from potential threats.
- Manners and guarding all access points by acknowledging individuals entering and exiting, maintaining a professional environment.
- Physical removal of any party disrupting activities or refusing assistance, in accordance with state protocol.
- Assisting members of the public with directions or queries to provide a supportive presence.
- Opening and locking secure designated areas or buildings as instructed to control access.
- Controlling and managing crowds during peak times or emergencies.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 10, Standard 8, or ABET Level 2 qualification.
- Security Training (Grades E, D, & C).
- Valid PSIRA Accreditation certificate.
- Minimum of two years relevant experience in a security context.
- Ability to work irregular hours.
