Purpose of the Role

The Admin Assistant is responsible for delivering high-level administrative support through efficient coordination of office activities, preparation of reports, and management of communication processes. The role also includes handling information requests, maintaining records, and ensuring the smooth functioning of day-to-day administrative operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, record, and manage incoming and outgoing correspondence to maintain accurate record-keeping within the sub-department
  • Prepare and distribute meeting minutes, presentations, and general office communications to relevant stakeholders
  • Perform general administrative and clerical duties to support office operations
  • Coordinate and arrange work sessions, staff meetings, and ensure all logistical requirements are in place
  • Handle travel arrangements including accommodation and flights in line with organisational travel policies
  • Support effective communication and information flow within the division
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Requirements
  • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)
  • Relevant recognised course (shorter than one year at NQF Level 4 – certificate of competence), depending on operational requirements

Experience
  • 1–2 years of relevant administrative experience
Technical Competencies
