
The Northern Cape Department of Health invites suitably qualified and registered Social Workers to apply for the vacant position at Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing preventative, curative, rehabilitative, and palliative care to in-patients and referred out-patients. Duties include recording patient interventions, maintaining accurate statistics, and offering education and guidance to clients and multidisciplinary health teams on social work interventions. - Grade 1: R325 200 per annum
- Grade 2: R397 119 per annum

REQUIREMENTS:
- Registration with the South African Council of Social Professions as a Social Worker.
Experience: - Grade 1: None after registration with the SACSP as a Social Worker.
- Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years’ appropriate experience as a Social Worker after registration with the SACSP.
- Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years’ appropriate experience as a Social Worker after registration with the SACSP.
- Grade 4: A minimum of 30 years’ appropriate experience as a Social Worker after registration with the SACSP.

DUTIES:
- To ensure for maximum preventative, curative, rehabilitative and palliative care of all in-patients and referred out patients of the hospital.

- Educate and advise clients as well as the multidisciplinary members of the health team on social work intervention.
- Enhance ongoing professional development and growth in the field of social work.
