Requirements:
- Diploma /Degree in Biomedical Technology/Science and relevant HPCSA registration
Advantageous:
- Good Clinical Practice Certificate (GCP)
- Good Laboratory Practice Certificate (GLP)
- Valid Driver’s license
Responsibilities:
- Observe all policies and procedures for the employees of the with laboratory with regard to the acts performed and services provided in the laboratory
- Performing routine laboratory functions to support scientific experiments and investigations
- Setting up, testing, adjusting, calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment and apparatus (and calibration of other site equipment)
- Temperature monitoring
- Processing and preparing samples and specimens (onsite processing or courier to referral lab)
- Ensuring safe disposals of waste
- Lab results tracking
- Enforcing strict health and safety regulations
- Staying up to date with relevant scientific developments that can improve the efficiency of lab operations
- Conduct IQC and EQA activities and ensure that the lab is compliant
- Ensure lab audit readiness
- Develop and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Support operational activities
The annual remuneration package is market related.
