Main purpose of the job: To provide a reliable and courteous transportation service to participants, provide a communication link between participants and staff and to operate and maintain assigned vehicles.

Key performance areas
•Liaise with management for daily transport schedule
•Transport patients safely to and from destinations
•Transport staff for home visit purposes
•Collect and deliver documents and/or goods safely
•Assist with ad hoc administrative and maintenance duties as assigned by management
•Complete general driving requirement for the site as and when required and authorised by management •Maintain study documentation according to monitoring requirements
•Complete vehicle logbook before and after each trip
•Ensure that the vehicle is always clean and in a roadworthy condition
•Monitor mileage intervals and advise admin manager according to service intervals
•Ensure company vehicles are parked in the main security area over the weekend and holiday periods
•Ensure adherence to the vehicle policy, driver policy and road law enforcement regulations
•Take ownership and accountability for tasks and demonstrates effective self-management
•Follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of own work are consistently and accurately maintained
•Maintain a positive attitude and respond openly to feedback
•Take ownership for driving own career development by participating in ongoing training and development activities such as forums, conferences, policy setting workshops etc
Required minimum education and training
•Matric/Grade 12
•Valid South African Driver’s license and Professional Drivers Perm
Required minimum work experience and abilities
•Minimum 3 years of experience in a driver role
•Ability to maintain accurate records
•Knowledge of Gauteng areas
Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities
Must be of sober habits, be willing to work overtime, able to work independently, punctuality and good time management skills, professional and positive disposition, good communication in English and other African languages (verbal and written), customer orientated and tactful, self-motivated with high record for work ethic, values, and integrity
