Job Overview

Key Performance Areas
- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Maintain Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR) below target levels
- Coordinate fire team evacuation drills and emergency preparedness activities
- Conduct routine audits and inspections to assess departmental compliance
- Maintain accurate administrative records including reports, legal registers and documentation
- Ensure safety signage is updated and compliant
- Conduct risk assessments and deliver toolbox talks
- Evaluate risks continuously and assess safety equipment effectiveness
- Record, report and investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
- Support health and safety training programmes
Knowledge and Skills
- SAMTRAC or Risk Management qualification
- Diploma in Health & Safety Management or Environmental Health
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety standards
- Emergency preparedness and response training
- Computer literacy in Safety Management Systems such as Shopware or SHEQX
- Strong report writing and documentation skills
Minimum Requirements
