NOTE:

The Limpopo Department of Education invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill various vacant Salary Level 5 positions within the department. Full details of the available posts are contained in Annexure A of the official circular.

Applications must be submitted using the new Z83 Application for Employment Form, which is available from all Government Departments and Institutions. Applicants can also download the form from the Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA) website at www.dpsa.gov.za or the Department of Employment and Labour website at www.labour.gov.za.

The new Z83 form must be completed in full and signed by the applicant before submission. Applicants are required to complete all sections in Part A, Part C and Part D. In Part B, every field must be completed except that South African applicants do not need to provide passport numbers. Applicants who answer “No” to the question regarding conducting business with the State or being a director of a company doing business with the State may leave blank or indicate “Not Applicable” for the follow-up question asking whether they will relinquish such business interests upon appointment to the Public Service. Applicants whose professions do not require official registration may also leave the registration section blank.

Where there is insufficient space in Parts E, F and G of the Z83 form, applicants may indicate “Refer to Curriculum Vitae (CV)” or “See Attached”, provided that a detailed CV is attached containing all the required information. The CV forms part of the application and applicants are responsible for ensuring that all information provided is accurate and complete. Questions relating to conditions that may prevent re-appointment in Part F must be answered. Applicants must also ensure that the correct reference number of the post they are applying for is entered in the “Reference Number” section of the Z83 form.

Certified copies of educational qualifications, academic records, identity documents and a valid driver’s licence, where required, do not have to be submitted with the application. These documents will only be required from shortlisted candidates on the day of the interview.

All shortlisted applicants will undergo a Technical Competency Exercise Test together with an oral interview. The competency test is designed to assess candidates’ practical skills in using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.

Applicants who obtained qualifications outside South Africa are responsible for ensuring that their qualifications are evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) and must provide proof of such evaluation when required.

Shortlisted candidates will also be required to complete two pre-entry assessments. One assessment will be a practical exercise, while the second will be an Integrity (Ethical Conduct) Assessment in accordance with the Directive on Human Resource Management and Development for Public Service Professionalisation, effective from 1 April 2024.

Successful candidates will be required to sign a performance agreement and an oath of secrecy with the Department. All appointments are subject to personal suitability checks, including criminal record checks, credit record checks, security vetting, verification of educational qualifications and reference checks. Recommended candidates will therefore be subjected to security clearance before appointment.

The Limpopo Department of Education reserves the right not to fill any of the advertised positions. Appointment decisions will also be guided by the Department’s Employment Equity Plan.

Candidates will be required to disclose their financial interests in accordance with the applicable legislation and Public Service prescripts.

The closing date for applications is Friday, 24 July 2026 at 16:00. Applications received after the closing date and time will not be considered. Failure to comply with the application requirements will result in disqualification.

Applications should preferably be submitted online through the Limpopo Department of Education e-Recruitment portal at https://erecruitment.limpopo.gov.za. Applicants must first register on the website before they can submit an application.

Alternatively, applications may be hand delivered to the Head of Department, Limpopo Department of Education, Private Bag X9489, Polokwane, 0700, or submitted at 113 Biccard Street, Polokwane, Records Management Directorate, Office H03 (Registry). Applications for district-based positions must be submitted to the relevant Education District Offices listed in Annexure B of the advertisement.

Due to the anticipated high volume of applications, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Applicants who do not receive any communication within 90 days after the closing date should consider their applications unsuccessful. Should an applicant require reasons for the administrative decision, they may request such reasons within 90 days in terms of Section 5(1) and (2) of the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000 (Act No. 3 of 2000).
