An opportunity has presented itself to appoint a suitably qualified candidate into the position of Security Officer: Central Region. This is a Permanent position based at Security .
Job Summary:
Responsible for surveillance and access control to ensure the laboratory and personnel is kept safe at all times
Minimum Criteria Required:
- Grade 10
Experience:
- 0-1 Yrs Relevant Working Experience
Relevant Job Knowledge:
- Organisational policy procedures
Key Performance Areas:
- Logs on the system to register for attendance as per set standard operating procedures.
Controls the camera surveillance of all laboratory floors (CCTV camera and physical) to ensure no unauthorised persons enter the building. - Directs visitors and patients to the correct visiting area
- Controls access of the car park via remote to ensure no unauthorised or suspect vehicles enters the premises at Westdene
- Keeps vehicle keys in a safe for the couriers and nursing staff collecting specimens at night to ensure no keys get lost.
- Ensures that staff exiting the building with company equipment / property e.g. lap top have a letter of authority.
- Reports any irregularities to the Laboratory Manager or relevant Pathologist to ensure safety of staff
- Implements sound housekeeping procedures and work effectively with others as a member of a team to ensure a safe working environment in accordance with relevant legislation and all safety protocols. This includes the on-going maintenance of quality assurance standards, adherence to infection control measures, correct disposal of bio-hazardous waste and participation (as per delegated responsibilities) in the preparation process for internal and external quality control audits.
- Represents the organisation by applying principles of customer care in the medical pathology field and interacts professionally and ethically with medical professionals to ensure customer service.

Remuneration:
