Position: Laboratory Technician – Lancewood / Cape Town
Reporting to: Compliance Manager
Location: Athlone, Cape Town

We have a vacancy for a Laboratory Technician to attend to our Athlone facility and carry out activities. The aim of this vacancy is to Verify that all quality assurance/food safety/health and safety standards/Specification and operating procedures are followed within the factory areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform chemical and microbiological analyses on raw milk, fresh milk, buttermilk, cream, yoghurt and juice product, sample(s) of products, finished products, Incoming goods and end of shelf life as per prescribed procedure and practise.
- Ensure equipment used for analysis are calibrated and / or verified daily.
- Compliance checks in Milk, Yoghurt and Juice Factories.
- Ensure Lancewood food safety standards/ health & safety / Environmental Standards and key account specifications are complied with during raw milk intake, pre-production, in- & post-production phases.
- Obtain an in-depth knowledge of all products; product specifications and use knowledge in the quality inspections and problem finding.
Work Experience:
- 1 year’s production or laboratory experience (FCG/Agriculture)
Requirements:
- Matric
- Post Matric/Tertiary qualification (Chem/Microbiology/Food technology-National Diploma)/ Equivalent
- Focus areas of Mathematics and Science
- Must reside in the surrounding areas
- Must be willing to work shifts
- Must be willing to rotate within the Quality Department
- Own transport
- Dairy Experience (1 year)
- Proof of full vaccination
