Internship Opportunities Available

The Graduate Internship Programme offers placements in the following fields:

Finance (3 Positions)

Graduates with qualifications in Finance are invited to apply for available placements within the Finance Department. Successful candidates may gain exposure to areas such as financial administration, budgeting processes, supply chain management, asset management, financial reporting, and related financial functions. This opportunity provides valuable experience in understanding how financial systems operate within a public transport organization.

Human Resources Management (1 Position)

The Human Resources internship offers graduates an opportunity to gain practical experience in employee relations, recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, and administrative support within the HR environment. Candidates will work alongside experienced professionals and gain insight into the strategic role of human resources in organizational success.

Wellness Management (1 Position)

The Wellness Management internship is suitable for graduates interested in health administration and employee wellness programmes. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn about workplace wellness initiatives, occupational health support systems, employee assistance programmes, and related administrative functions aimed at promoting employee well-being.

Operations / Transport Management (2 Positions)

Graduates in Transport Management will receive exposure to operational planning, fleet coordination, transport scheduling, service delivery monitoring, and other transportation-related functions. The internship provides practical experience in the management and coordination of transport services within a large public transport organization.

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) (1 Position)

The ICT internship is designed for graduates with qualifications in Information Technology or Information Systems. The successful candidate will gain experience in technical support, information systems management, network administration, software applications, and technology-related projects that support business operations.

Law (1 Position)

Law graduates will have the opportunity to work within a professional legal environment and gain exposure to legal administration, compliance matters, contract management, policy interpretation, and other legal functions relevant to the transport sector. This placement offers valuable practical experience for graduates pursuing careers within the legal profession.

Office Administration (1 Position)

The Office Administration internship provides graduates with experience in administrative support, records management, office coordination, correspondence management, and general organizational operations. The position is ideal for candidates seeking to develop professional administrative skills in a structured workplace environment.

Programme Duration

The internship programme will run for a period of 24 months. During this time, successful candidates will receive practical workplace exposure designed to complement their academic qualifications and prepare them for future employment opportunities.

The programme aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical work experience, allowing graduates to apply theoretical knowledge within a professional environment while developing workplace competencies.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must satisfy the following requirements before applying:

  • Must be a South African citizen.
  • Must be 35 years of age or younger.
  • Must be unemployed at the time of application.
  • Must not have previously participated in an internship programme within the same field of study.
  • Must possess a National Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, or Honours Degree in the relevant discipline.
