Faculty of Engineering
Department of Mechanical Engineering
Position: Laboratory Assistant (P14) X2
Salary Scale: R158 209.00 – R214 889.00 (P14) basic salary per annum.
Benefits: 13th cheque, housing subsidy, pension, group life, medical aid, and study grant.
Key Performance Areas:
- Instrument/Equipment Management.
- Maintenance and Housekeeping in the Labs.
- General Administration and assistance to department.
- Assist staff to ensure smooth running of the laboratory as required.
- Monitoring and updating the asset register.
- Conduct accurate inventory activities in the laboratories.
- Participate in community-based programs within the field of Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric
- Three (3) year National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Three (3) relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering field work.
Recommendations:
- Basic understanding of safety requirements in relation to working within a mechanical
engineering field.
Competencies:
- Computer literacy.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently
