Key Responsibilities

Compliance Management
The successful candidate will assist in ensuring compliance with the client’s contractor management system. This involves reviewing contractor documentation, verifying compliance requirements, and supporting contractors in meeting safety obligations before and during project execution.
Conducting Audits and Inspections
Regular health and safety audits and inspections form an important component of the role. The Safety Officer will be responsible for identifying hazards, assessing risks, monitoring corrective actions, and ensuring that all safety standards are maintained across operational areas.
Contractor Safety Administration
Managing contractor safety documentation is another key aspect of the position. This includes maintaining contractor packs on-site and ensuring all information is correctly uploaded and updated within the HSEC online system. Accurate record-keeping and documentation control are essential to support compliance and auditing requirements.
Reporting and Communication
The Safety Officer will provide regular reports on health, safety, and environmental matters to site management and relevant stakeholders. Effective communication with the Operations Manager, Plant Manager, National SHEQ Manager, and the client is required to ensure safety concerns are addressed promptly and appropriately.
Supporting Site Safety Initiatives

Minimum Requirements

Educational Qualifications

Industry Experience
A minimum of two years’ experience working within mining safety systems as a Safety Officer is required.
