Job Description
Administrative Assistant (Student Recruitment)

Main Objectives
To provide effective administration support to the Recruitment Office and provide information and recruitment services for new incoming students and their families and assist with Campus tours

The Requirements
Grade 12 plus approximately 6 months working experience where such experience includes:

Previous experience in a busy computerised administrative environment
Previous experience working dealing with queries and/or a frontline position
Previous experience in financial systems
A valid driver’s license. If the incumbent does not have a driver’s license, the University will pay for the first attempt to obtain a driver’s license. Thereafter costs will be for the incumbents’ account. Obtaining a driver’s license will form part of the probation requirements, and failure to obtain a driver’s license will mean that the incumbents’ employment cannot be confirmed

Selection Process (provisional date, subject to change):
Short-listing meeting scheduled for the TBC 2024.
The selection process that will be followed for this post will include an assessment and/or presentation and an interview.
Shortlisted candidates will be informed of the interview date.

Remuneration per annum (Grade 7):
Basic Salary per annum: R219 193

Cost to Company per annum (approximately): R309 002

All applications will be treated in strict confidence. This post is advertised as permanent post, but the University may opt to appoint on a fixed-term contract of not less than three-years. The University reserves the right not to proceed with the filling of the post. An application in itself does not entitle the applicant to an interview. Rhodes University has a vaccination mandate as part of its Conditions of Service. The implementation of the vaccine mandate has been held in abeyance from 01 January 2023.
