The South African Revenue Service (SARS) invites interested and adequately qualified applicants to apply for Auditor Level 1 on a three-month contract.

Position: Auditor Level 1 x40 Limpopo, North-West, Mpumalanga (3 month Contract) (10143)

Position Reports to: Lead Tax Verification

Division: Taxpayer Engagement-GS

Location: SARS Alberton

About the Position

SARS is looking for energetic, results oriented, self-driven individuals to add value and improve the SARS operations by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to the effectiveness of the Compliance Audit. 

The successful candidates will need to take responsibility for the planning of their time and work, executing the work in the Compliance/limited scope Audit space to meet the set targets and goals.  The position is offered on a short-term contract basis for a period of 8 months.

Job Purpose

To conduct standard limited scope audits or verification on a risk profile basis to ensure compliance.

Education and Experience

Minimum Qualification & Experience Required

  • National Diploma Finance/ Accounting/ Taxation/ Auditing (NQF6) and 3-4 years’ experience in Auditing/Finance environment, of which 1-2 years at knowledge worker level.

OR

  • Senior Certificate (NQF 4) and 6 years’ experience in Auditing/Finance environment, of which 1-2 years at knowledge worker level.

  • Conduct standard (limited scope) audits to ensure compliance with the relevant acts.

  • Prepare and present submissions to interest and penalty committee.

  • Effectively plan and schedule own activities to continuously improve quality and service delivery in area of specialisation.
  • Execute process and procedural change, implement the change and provide guidelines and support related to new requirements as a result of the change.
  • Use practical and applied knowledge and situational judgement to consider policy implications and to arrive at decisions/conclusions.
