Position: Warehouse Internship
Reporting to: Warehouse Manager

A Warehouse Intern is needed to join SMC’s growing South Africa head office based in Midrand, Johannesburg. This is an exciting opportunity to gain warehouse experience within SMC. The incumbent will be responsible for goods receiving, storing, warehousing, picking, packaging, and dispatching in accordance with the company processes, policies, and best practices.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Receiving, verifying, and booking in weekly Sea and Air Freight orders
• Pack away and warehouse verification process including stock cycle counting
• Picking and Packaging outgoing Orders
• Daily afternoon dispatching
• Attend to customer collection queries
• Daily admin functions including SMC’s return receiving processes
• General Warehouse “everything in its correct place” activities
To be considered for this position you will need:
• Matric + Warehouse related Diploma or qualification
• Excellent MS Office skills
• Excellent communication, presentation, and personal skills
• Ability to handle pressure and switch between tasks easily – Flexible
• Quick learning and Attention to detail to avoid errors
• Teamwork orientated but actively seek your next task
• Fit and healthy and willing to work on your feet most of the day
• Knowledge of a Tracking / ERP system will be an added advantage
