Position: General Worker X3

Salary: R136,583.09 – R182,758.24

Location: Agulhas National Park, Western Cape

Closing Date: 06 June 2025

Three (3) years fixed term contract (ending March 2028) positions currently exists for three (3) General Workers at Agulhas National Park. The successful candidates will have to be a highly motivated individual with the necessary skills and experience and will report to the Duty Manager.
The successful candidates will have to provide their own accommodation as there is no official accommodation in the park.

Requirements

  • Minimum Requirements:
  • Grade 12 (Matric), NCV Level 4 certificate
  • Previous experience in housekeeping, maintenance, or a similar role is advantageous.
  • Basic general maintenance and storeroom management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness and upkeep.
  • Physically fit and capable of performing tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Self-motivated, time management, responsible, and disciplined.
  • Basic knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • First Aid knowledge will be an added advantage.
  • Must be willing to work weekends and public holidays.
  • A valid driver’s licence will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general cleaning duties, including removal of rubbish, cleaning of fireplaces, braais, office buildings, ablutions, accommodations and surrounding areas.
  • Assist with minor general maintenance tasks relating to buildings, roads, water supply and infrastructure.
  • Maintain terrain and gardens, including mowing and general landscaping.
  • Record and report maintenance issues in the maintenance logbook.
  • Clean and maintain vehicles, machinery, tools, and equipment.
  • Assist with ad-hoc duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) practices at all times.
