POSITION: STORES CONTROLLER (6 Months Fixed Term Position)
DIVISION: PROCUREMENT
LOCATION: VLAKFONTEIN MINE
Purpose
This position is responsible for providing all the goods, equipment, Personal Protective Equipment, and materials which are required on the mine for efficient and effective production and for all asset management in ensuring
that all assets are recorded on the register and that regular physical verification of assets takes place.
Responsibilities
Store Management Functions
- Offloading of goods from delivery vehicle.
- Binning & labelling of inventory.
- Capture material reservations for goods issued on SAP System.
- Maintain the warehouse in a tidy state & clearing away packing material.
- Good/items receipting to ensure the goods/items received are as per the purchase order and are in
good quality and the correct quantity. - Updating the SAP System regarding the goods/items received.
- Signing off the joining delivery notes/invoices as a proof that the goods/items were received on
conjunction with the end-user. - Stock taking on a regular basis.
- Issuing of store items to the end users and keeping records thereof.
- Update the SAP System after stocking in order to ensure that the goods/items in the stores match
with what is on the SAP System. - Compile a detailed report after the stock taking.
- Ensuring that the storeroom is always locked and that no -one can access the storeroom without
following the proper process. - Ensuring that store items/goods are packed accordingly, and that the storeroom is always clean.
- Ensuring that the queries raised by the auditors are resolved to prevent repeat findings.
Asset Management Functions
- Asset verification on a yearly basis.
- Compile asset reconciliation on a quarterly basis.
- Barcoding of assets and ensuring all the new and existing assets are registered and recorded on the
asset register. - Disposal of assets which are redundant and update the register accordingly.
- Ensuring that all the assets are depreciated on the SAP System monthly.
- Compilation of the PPE note in the Annual Financial Statements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Logistics Management/Finance or Supply Chain.
- Computer literacy.
- Basic SAP knowledge.
- Valid driver’s license.
- 1 – 3 years’ experience in Supply Chain environment.
