Position: Graphic design – Intern
Location: Cape Town, South Africa
Overall Purpose of the Role
- To provide a support function for the entire retail team (Key Account Managers, Integrated
Retail Marketing, Category Managers, Product Developers)
Areas of Responsibility
Key elements and required results of the role
PD Support
- Sending out style guides to licensees / retailers / agencies / marketing team
- Downloading latest style guides from DMC, collating, binding, and writing to hard drive /
shared file system - Maintaining the database of style guides on a regular basis
- Keep PD’s and Category Managers informed of new guides available.
- Prepare art materials for licensee / retailer meetings.
- Sample photography of key SKU’s to prepare soundbites for overseas presentations
(regional updates) - Put together storyboards from style guides together with PD as required.
Category Manager Support
- Sorting & dispatching of samples received – throw out’s.
- Keep Category Managers informed of latest art and download latest art on request.
Retail Marketing / Key Account Support
- Design specific retail creative as required i.e., signage, POS, social and digital – local and
Africa. - Download and file retail branding guides for licensees / retailers/ agencies.
- Collate hampers and prizes and send to recipients.
- Assist with sourcing of product images from licensees / PD’s when require for creative
layout (XLOB campaigns) - Ensure creative layout are made print ready.
- Upload all art to OPA for approval.
Who accountable to, what accountable for and any budget responsibility
- Accountable for timely servicing and feedback / approval of all marketing material across platforms, content, elements and substrates
- No budget responsibility
Experience and Professional Qualifications Required
Graphic Design Diploma – Indesign – Adobe – Illustrator – Photoshop – Apple Mac literate, Advanced level and not negotiable – Experience with multiple reporting lines and great internal and external communication skills is advantageous
Skills Required
Highlighting the key technical, language and job related skills required
- Ability to file/store and manage a database of style guides and product and retail guidelines
- Ability to communicate basic design ideas – receive and execute briefs
- Highly Skilled in presentation software (Power point/Keynote) and a working knowledge of design and specialised product programmes (Illustrator, Photoshop…)
- Organised, ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload
- Ability to deliver against deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Team player – collaborator
