The University of the Free State invites interested and suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of CCTV Monitoring Operations to be based at Bloemfontein Campus.

Description

Duties and responsibilities:
•Record incidents and keep them for evidence purposes.
•Produce a sequence of events reports as and when a need arises.
•Ensure that all security systems function properly.
•Produce preliminary investigation notes for the investigators.
•Operate and maintain surveillance equipment, watching both live and recorded video surveillance footage.
•Watch multiple monitors at once and make notes of any unusual occurrence and report to the Shift leader.
•Work without constant supervision.
•Store footage information for investigation purposes safely.
•Ensure that footage is stored correctly.
•Test the redpolls (panic buttons) weekly and submit a detailed report.
•Monitor intruder and fire alarm panels as well as the CCTV cameras.
•Monitor all CCTV cameras.
•Activate response members for intruder fire alarms.

Inherent requirements:
•Grade 12 on NQF level 4.
•Valid grade C PSIRA certificate.
•A minimum of one (1) year of relevant work experience.

Recommendations:
•Communication in at least three languages including English.
•Computer literacy
•Knowledge of relevant security regulations and principles
•Knowledge of the POPI Act
•CCTV Monitoring certificate.

Salary:
The annual remuneration package, including benefits, is R103 437.86 – R181 280.51 per annum, depending on the budget available for the position, relevant work experience, and qualifications.
