About the Security Officer Role
The Security Officer position is designed for individuals who are passionate about security management, risk assessment, access control, and asset protection. Key Responsibilities

The role includes conducting daily alarm system testing to verify that security systems are working correctly. Full alarm system inspections must also be conducted weekly in partnership with the alarm monitoring company to ensure continued effectiveness.
Security Officers will oversee access control procedures and property protection measures. This includes verifying visitor information, obtaining necessary documentation from visitors, and ensuring that all access procedures are followed correctly.
Monthly branch security evaluation reports must be prepared and submitted to branch management. These reports will assist management in identifying risks, evaluating security performance, and implementing improvements where necessary.
The successful candidates will also assist in compiling priority lists for approved security recommendations in collaboration with management.
Additional duties include managing and maintaining several important security registers, including:
- Firearms register
- Equipment register
- Identification card register
- Visitor card register
Accurate recordkeeping will be essential to ensure compliance and accountability.
Vehicle security management also forms part of the role. Security Officers will be responsible for reviewing reports generated through vehicle technology systems and monitoring vehicle security checks.
The position further requires planning and forecasting road checks over a three-month period to support operational security objectives.
Fire safety is another important component of the role. Security Officers must ensure that firefighting equipment is available, maintained, serviced, and compliant with required standards. Regular inspections will be necessary to confirm that all equipment remains serviceable and ready for use during emergencies.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
