Position: Groen Sebenza Internship Programme
Location: iSimangaliso Wetland Park Authority, KwaZulu-Natal
Groen Sebenza is a youth capacity development initiative and programme which will be implemented by iSimangaliso Wetland Park Authority within the Natural Resource Management (NRM) Programmes. The programme is aimed at supporting experiential learning, capacity development and research in the fields aligned to the Department of Forestry, Fisheries, and Environment (DFFE), and the Environment NRM vision “to support sustainable livelihoods for local people through integrated landscape management that strives for resilient social-ecological systems, and which fosters equity in access to ecosystem services.
The initiative aims to provide these opportunities from 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2026 to the unemployed graduates primarily from the previously disadvantaged backgrounds and pair them with experienced officials in the form of mentorship to learn, grow and eventually gain competence and confidence to embark on careers.

- Must be unemployed.
- The ability to function under pressure.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Applicants must clearly indicate the qualifications, reference number and the programme he / she is applying for.
Documents Required
Applicants are required to attach the certified copies of the following documents.
- Covering Letter / Motivation (indicate why you should be considered for the internship)
- A recently certified copy of your ID
- A recently certified Grade 12 certificate
- A recently certified copy of your tertiary qualifications
- A recently certified copy of a valid driver’s license (if required)
- CV of not more than 3 pages
- Proof of address
- Certification should not be older than 3 months.
Candidates if appointed outside the area of his/her residence must find their own accommodation and transportation considering that they will be earning a stipend.
CLOSING DATE OF APPLICATIONS
The closing date for the submission of applications is 15 March 2024 at 16h00. No applications
will be accepted after the closing date and time.

Applications must be hand delivered to iSimangaliso Human Resources Office (Nonhlanhla’s office) between 8h30 to 16h00. There will be a box which will be at the HR Office specifically for Groen Sebenza Internship Programmes applications.
Failure to adhere to the above instructions will result in your application not being considered.
Appointment of candidates into this Internship Programme will be made at the sole discretion of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park Authority. Applicants who have not received any response within 60 days from closing date should consider their applications unsuccessful.
